A very good Spaghetti Meatballs recipe

An italian-american classic... although today this meatballs spaghetti sauce is being served in Italy, too!
People say this was Al Capone's favorite spaghetti sauce recipe; The important thing here is how
you season the meatballs... Try this a few times and be critical; you will find your favorite spice
and size combination... personally I think the Worcestershire sauce does wonders in this recipe.

12 oz spaghetti pasta (or preferred pasta)

a nice plate of meatballs spaghetti
Meatballs ingredients:
1 1/4 lb ground beef
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, more if desired;
1 large beaten egg,
1/2 cup bread crumbs,
1/4 cup fresh grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
2 cloves garlic
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Sauce ingredients:
3 Tbsp olive oil,
1/2 teaspoon dried hot pepper flakes
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup of beef stock,
1 large (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
A Tablespoon chopped parsley
10 fresh basil leaves, finely sliced
Some more grated cheese, like Parmesan or Romano, for serving

Cooking instructions:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
While the recipe is being prepared, boil water for the pasta
At the moment it starts to boil, add salt and pasta; cook pasta as per package instructions, to your taste.

Mix your beef and the Worcestershire, the beaten egg, bread crumbs, grated cheese, pressed-in garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl.
Roll  this meat mixture into 1 1/2 inch sized meatballs and place on a nonstick cookie sheet
Bake the balls in the oven 10 to 12 minutes, until no longer pink.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add oil, pepper, crushed garlic and chopped onion slices.
Saute for 6 minutes, until onion bits are soft.
Add diced tomatoes, beef stock, and herb spices. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
Add meatballs to spaghetti sauce at this point.
Remembering presentation is very important, place pasta on each dinner plate, place meatballs strategically
over the pasta then top with sauce and add some more grated cheese.

Serve spaghetti with meatballs with some good italian wine; but this goes without saying!
